A Legacy of Love

I know a young man who was very fond of his namesake, Joe Sullivan. who was also great-grandfather to young Joe. Young Joe wrote his great- grandfather's story. It was a story about driving cars, working farms, making and spending money, loving people, especially a daughter whom he called Honeydear. Joe Sullivan drew the best out of everything. Even the musical instruments responded to his touch.

All stories come to an end as did young Joe's story of his great- grandfather. With Honeydear at his side the elder Joe revealed his great sadness. He had nothing of value to leave to his family. The wise young Joe knows that he is blessed by a Legacy of Love.

Last week the manuscript found its way to Hawaii and into my hands where it was meant to be. In the last line of the story, young Joe writes, " This letter is for you Honeydear."

The greatgrandfather is my father, the young Joe is my grandson. These wonderful men are my Legacy of Love.
