House of the Holy

There’s only one true Christian and he died on the cross But his knowledge and wisdom will never be lost So all you people standing here preaching and praying Better stop, look and listen to the words I’m saying
Everybody’s wearing the symbol of Peace But it’s one of those things that we practice the least And talk about the love of your fellow man We’ve still got people eating out of garbage cans You can all look away and pretend it’s not there But this world ain’t worth a shit until we say “I care.”
You call yourself a Christian? Better take another look You got to church, say your prayers and read a ten pound book Being a Christian ain’t nothing like that Listen to Jesus—he’ll give you the facts Love one another—and let’s not condemn Don’t ever say I died for your sins Sin is a myth Sin is a lie You think for those things, I’d lay down and die? Live from your heart Breathe from your soul Don’t worry about the Devil, it’s just you’re ego
There’s only one true Christian and he died on the cross But his knowledge and wisdom will never be lost So let’s try anyway to do what he said This life is just a dream and Heaven’s ahead
