Disgrace

pdf epub
There was a church on the corner down in East L.A. Where the Puerto Rican homeless used to go every day Door always open – let the hungry in Every man and child of life in sin
The Preacher thought the money was a worthy cause To feed a hungry man despite all his flaws He planned to build a shelter one-day too He felt it in his heart it was a good thing to do
Oh Lord – Are you listening?
The heads of the Church called him in one day “The budget is getting tight, we’ll have to do away With your little project feeding people like those This town is big enough there’s other places they can go.” The Preacher blew his top, he’d never been an angry man But their uncaring selfishness he could not understand He questioned their beliefs for this was wrong without a doubt They said “Just find yourself another Church, because we want you out.”
You’re a disgrace—disgrace It’s a disgrace—disgrace There’s only one true Christian and he died on the cross…
